Lara (also known by friends as La) is a media artist with a love for visual storytelling, technology, visual arts, modeling and overall wellness.

As Creative Director of LDS Multimedia, she has produced works both locally and internationally for clients such as Digicel Bermuda, Team Oracle USA, The Bermuda Tourism Authority and Arch Reinsurance just to name a few.

 

She attended the Radio and Television Arts Program at Ryerson University where her final video works received “Best Video in a Practicum”. Her time in Canada also landed her the opportunity to intern with Canadian Idol.

With the desire to continue her studies, Lara  attended Emerson College in Boston where she obtained an MA in Media Arts with a focus in documentary production. During these years she continued her interest in media, by hosting a reggae radio show once a week on WERS 88.9 FM where she later won “Rookie of the Year” award in 2008. She also worked at Somerville Community Access Television Station (Somerville MA) where she was an assistant teacher in the after school media program.

Her thesis film “Cameron - A Portrait” was accepted into The Bermuda International Film Festival in 2011 which was a catalyst into her independent film making journey. 

Internationally Lara has worked with companies such as Talbots, berlinproducers, Redbull TV and Bake from Scratch magazine, just to name a few.

Lara is an adjunct lecturer for Introduction to Media Arts at The Bermuda College where she has been able to share her passion for filmmaking and emerging media trends. She also is an active member on the Education Board for the Bermuda International Film Festival since 2015.

Currently Lara is produces local Bermudian Podcast, "Truspace" which discusses the topics of the day through a millennial perspective.
